Fifa entertainment fan events activities updated

Qatar will host a vast array of cultural and entertainment options for the whole family during this year’s FIFA World Cup™, which will be held from 20 November to 18 December.

The country-wide festival will include more than 90 special events set to take place on the sidelines of the tournament, which marked its 100-day countdown today, 12 August 2022. The major events will feature match viewing areas, music festivals, cultural displays and street performances.

Events at The Corniche

The country’s centrepiece entertainment offering during the FIFA World Cup™ will be the Corniche, which will have a carnival atmosphere along its 6km route, stretching from the Sheraton Hotel to the Museum of Islamic Art Park. It will feature roving performances, cultural activities, food and beverage stalls, and retail outlets. More than 120,000 people will be able to visit the Corniche at peak time.

The attraction is open to the public; however, some activities will require admission tickets.

  • What to expect: 150 food outlets, 4 live stages, daily water & light shows, family & children-friendly entertainment, official FIFA merchandise
  • Timings: 19 November - 18 December 2022, from 10 am to 12 am.
  • How to access: Souq Waqif metro station, Corniche metro station & West Bay metro station

Events at the Last-Mile Cultural Activation

Fans who attend matches will experience a host of entertainment in the vicinity of all eight stadiums. The Last-Mile Cultural Activation will feature more than 6,000 performances in 21 locations. Special highlights will include visual arts, crafts and heritage, fashion and design, performance art, music and film screenings.

Away from the stadiums, football fans will flock to the FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park, which will show every match live and feature stage performances, food and beverage outlets, cultural activities and sponsor activations. The FIFA Fan Festival will open on 19 November and have the capacity to host up to 40,000 visitors. In addition, fan zones will be hosted in the Industrial Area and Al Khor.

  • What to expect: 170 hours of live match viewing, 100 hours of live music by international & regional artists, local & global cuisine, family & children-friendly entertainment, official merchandise, VIP hospitality
  • Timings [UPDATED AS OF 30 OCTOBER 2022]:
    • 19-20 November 2022 from 4 pm to 2 am
    • 21-29 November 2022 from 11 am to 2 am
    • 30 November - 18 December 2022 from 4 pm to 2 am

Events at the Al Maha Island Lusail

Fans will be able to enjoy theme park rides and other attractions at Al Maha Island Lusail, including ice skating and circus performances. There will also be a beach club and a range of food and beverage options, including both high-end and casual dining.

Al Maha Island Lusail will also host a range of concerts and performances for people of all ages at the Al Maha Arena

The attraction is open to the public; however, some activities will require admission tickets.

  • What to expect: 50+ rides and attractions at Lusail Winter Wonderland, 395m tall rollercoaster, 150ft ferris wheel, renowned dining places and lounges (Nammos, Zuma, Billionaire), theatrical experiences, Al Maha Arena - Concert fan zone.
  • Opening date: 1 November 2022

Events at the 974 Beach Club

Another tourist hotspot will be the 974 Beach Club – located close to 974 Stadium – which will offer music, activities, food and beverage options, and retail stalls for up to 10,000 guests.

An event admission ticket will be required to access the beach club and the beach club will be operational until November 2024.

  • What to expect: 1.2km of beach, 50+ eateries, 20+ water sports & activities, 30+ retail outlets, live music, international artists, cultural activities, VIP areas, parking for 1,800
  • Timings: 9 am to 6 pm
  • How to access: Ras Bu Abboud metro station (shuttle buses will be available)

Events at the Lusail Boulevard

Lusail Boulevard – located close to the stadium that will host the FIFA World Cup™ final – will stage street performances & parades for around 50,000 people every day. There will also be a number of concerts & live music entertainment.

  • What to expect: 80+ food outlets, global artists, family & children-friendly entertainment
  • Timings: 20 November - 18 December, from 11 am to 12 am
  • How to access: Lusail Tram & Lusail metro station

    Music fans will also be very well catered for during the tournament. The Arcadia Spectacular dance music festival will be held near Ras Bu Fontas metro station and host up to 15,000 fans,

    The Arcadia Spectacular will be a platform showcasing A-listers of techno and house music.

    An event admission ticket will be required.

    • What to expect: Fire-breathing 50-tonne spider from Glastonbury 2022, international artists & DJs, live shows, global & local cuisine
    • Timings: 19 November - 19 December, from 10 am to 5 am
    • How to access: Ras Bu Fontas metro station

    Events at the MDL BEAST Presents - Aravia

    Another music event to look forward to will be 'ARAVIA' hosted by MDLBEAST which will take place in Al Wakrah and is set to attract 5,500 fans.

    The venue will be 12 minutes away from Doha International Airport and Al Janoub Stadium.

    • What to expect: 160+ hours of performance, 55+ acts, 1 iconic stage, global & local cuisine
    • Timings: 21 November - 18 December 2022, from 10 pm to 2 am
    • How to access: Al Wakrah metro station

    Festival in Motion

    The Festival in Motion will provide an immersive festival of dance, art & music that is inspired by Qatari culture, heritage & legacy across 10 surprise locations in Qatar.

    The show will feature choreography by internationally renowned filmmaker Benjamin Millipied, and music from New York Ballet & Metropolitan Opera composer Nico Mulhy.

    The event will require an admission ticket.

    • What to expect: 10 iconic locations, 16-day festival

    Our Story experience

    The Our Story experience offers desert adventures, off-roading and more, inspiring fans to explore activities outside the city.

    The experience will require an admission ticket.

    • What to expect: 6 hours of experiences - off-road tours around Sealine, Natural Reserve at Al Qarm, Old Souq in Al Wakrah, Horse riding at Al Qalayel

    Cultural Activation

    A parade of cultural activations will be on show across all 8 stadiums with a display of over 600 acts providing endless entertainment on all match days.

    • Timings: 3 hours ahead of each match and continue for 2 hours after the final match.

    In addition, a variety of cultural and entertainment activities will be available for fans across key tourist destinations in the country, including museums, Souq Waqif, Katara Cultural Village and Msheireb Downtown Doha.
