Ecuador won by two goals. The two goals of the match were scored by Enner Valencia in the 16th minute from a penalty kick, and in the 31st minute.
Ecuador has won the first three points in the group. Qatar will play its next match against Senegal on 25 November 2022 at Al Thumama Stadium.
The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday saw the East, with a Qatari flavour, meet the modernity of the West. The ceremony, which came directly ahead of the opening match between hosts Qatar and Ecuador in group A, saw a stunning light show.
The World Cup opening ceremony is considered one of the most important events that are aired globally and watched live worldwide.
