The Al Raya newspaper reported on 4 September 2022 the details of the upcoming Al Khor Fan Village that will house fans during the World Cup 2022.
The Al Khor Fan Village is expected to be one of the most attractive and prominent accommodation facilities for the fans and is scheduled to be inaugurated by 15 October 2022; however, the date is yet to be confirmed.
Khalid Al Suwaidi, Director of Partner Relations Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy stated during the Al-Majlis program on Al-Kass channel that the Al Khor Camp is located in the Ras Al Nouf area in Al Khor and is closely situated by the Al Bayt Stadium. It is also expected to be easily accessible from the Lusail metro station as there will be transportation buses between the two points.
As per the article, the camp comprises of groups of luxurious tents that consist of 202 rooms to accommodate up to 500 people. The camp will be flaunting Qatari culture with a Qatari restaurant and other eateries, which include 15 kiosks. There will also be a large screen area for fans to enjoy live broadcasts of matches.
As per Khalid Al Suwaidi, the most distinctive part of the Al Khor Fan Village is the privacy that the fans will be able to enjoy, courtesy the large units consisting of two “tents”, with provides complete privacy for each one separately. There will also be a private playground.
The camp is set to entertain fans with a gathering place to relax and enjoy campfires along with large outdoor screens, plus daily activities and shows.
Camp rooms come with a private bathroom and an array of amenities. They are facilitated with a smart TV, refrigerator, coffee and tea maker.
Other sport facilities will also be available to fans such as tennis, basketball and paddle courts, along with a gym and swimming pool.
It was further mentioned that the camp is expected to continue operations even after the tournament, allowing for Al Khor visitors to continue to enjoy this area.
