With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 approaching in a few months, Qatar is set to open a variety of exceptional new tourism developments across the country. Adding to the country's list of attractions and activities for every kind of traveller, these new tourist destinations range from water sports paradise to a winter wonderland!

According to Qatar Tourism, by 2030, Qatar is setting a goal to be the fastest growing destination in the Middle East, aiming to attract more than six million international visitors.

Qatar aims to capitalize on the expected influx of more than a million visitors to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and show the world its hidden treasures and unmissable vacation potential.

As per Qatar Tourism Operations Director Berthold Trenkel, "The countdown to the World Cup is underway and there are plenty of world-class attractions to come before the matches start. Amidst the buzz around the tournament in yes, we hope people will be amazed by Qatar’s new state-of-the-art tourism developments, which significantly increase the country’s attractiveness as a leading holiday destination There are new beaches for those seeking sun, sea and sand, theme parks and hotels for sports water parks for the adventurous, and many new resorts, spas and restaurants for visitors looking for a more relaxing getaway.

Lusail Winter Wonderland

Expected to attract more than 1.5 million visitors a year, the Lusail Winter Wonderland of Al Maha Island in the city of Lusail is set to open in November and will run until March of each year.

With over 50 rides, including rollercoasters, a Ferris wheel, kiddie rides and more, Doha's Winter Wonderland is sure to excite you!

Fuwairit Kite Beach (FKB)

Billed as the first “entertainment island” in Qatar, Qetaifan Island North will feature floating hotels, beach clubs and a water park with 36 attractions, including “The Icon Tower” area, with an 85-meter-high slide that will become the tallest of its kind in the world.

With more than 1.3 million square meters, the island is close to the Lusail Stadium, where the final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place.

West Bay North Beach Project

The West Bay North Beach project is located along Doha’s commercial district, just 10 minutes away from the West Bay metro station and adjacent to a number of major shops, parks and hotels.
