DOHA: Thick layers of floating filth have formed in different areas in the waters off the Corniche due to dumping of large quantities of organic waste. The waste is being generated by the traditional dhows operating in the area, it is believed.
DOHA: The Supreme Education Council has announced plans to develop vocational institutes here. The council will set standards for vocational training in coordination with the higher education institute, according to a local newspaper.

The General Command of the Qatari Armed Forces has announced that it will conduct a pilot shooting exercise at the shooting field (O.B.D-28) located 40 km east of Mesaieed, approximately at an angle of 105 from the Mesaieed Port, to South of Shra'oh. The shooting exercise will be held daily from 2 to 5 August 2010 and its timing will be as follow:
