Hundreds of visitors thronged the opening of the first ever ‘Made In Turkey’ exhibition yesterday at the Doha Exhibition Centre where a total of 204 companies are showcasing their best products.

Sheraton Doha has new hi-tech fitness equipment at the hotel’s Health and Recreation Centre’s newly constructed extension and they are generating much interest from members and guests. The gym also recently reopened to the public.

Today, at Grove Fuel Cell Symposium, Honda received the prestigious Grove Medal in recognition of the FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle. The FCX Clarity is a practical car with room for four people and luggage and it is ready for use on the road. Significantly, it has 2-3 times better fuel economy than its petrol equivalent and 1.5 times that of a petrol-electric hybrid. In addition to this excellent fuel economy the FCX Clarity produces no harmful gases, its only emission is water

The Babies and Kids TableTop Sale, which took place yesterday at Qipco Compound, raised over 55,000QR for the rebuilding of QAWS. Over 500 people attended the event and great bargains were had by all! The event was co-hosted by DEMK and ExpatWoman Qatar and was originally targeted to raise ~10,000QR. Hotels in Qatar should slash their rates if they want to fill their rooms as the current tariff is “not realistic”, the country’s tourism chief has said.
