Saudi Arabia announced on Monday, 9 January that it would lift limits on the number of Hajj pilgrims for 2023 after imposing restrictions to help ease the COVID-19 pandemic.

His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, announced:
"The numbers of pilgrims in the 1444 AH season will return to what they were before the Corona pandemic, without conditions on age."
