The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on 1 December 2022 that the Committee on Civil Liberties in the European Parliament has approved the exemption of the citizens of Qatar from the Schengen visa.

The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the European Union and NATO, H.E. Mr Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Maliki mentioned that this is an essential step towards the completion of the exemption procedure.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that this step indicated the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the State of Qatar towards to best interest of the citizens and the facilitation of their access to countries across the world.
