The Peninsula reported that the Government Communications Office (GCO) emphasised the keenness of the State of Qatar on the coherence in societies and people in different countries of the world and its constant endeavour to deepen the bonds of love and the rejection of hatred among people.

In a statement, GCO said that the Ministry of Interior (MoI) of the State of Qatar (Expatriates Affairs Department) is the only authority authorised to issue the various types VISAs for entry into the country, according to the approval of the competent authorities and in accordance with the laws and regulations governing this, as well as the joint agreements with other countries.

The GCO said that the position of Qatar has always been clear that people should not be involved in the differences that arise between countries, pointing out that the states will continue to derive their strength from the cohesion of their peoples and societies. In response to the remarks made during the past few days, GCO pointed out that any remarks out of those legal frameworks, do not represent the policy in force in the Ministry of Interior.

The GCO stressed that the State of Qatar welcomes all the peoples of the world and that the various activities between peoples, whether cultural, sports, tourism, economic and others, are among the means of bringing people together regardless of the differences between countries. GCO pointed out that any remarks out of those legal frameworks, do not represent the policy in force in the Ministry of Interior.
