In a report as per The Peninsula, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has issued Circular No. (2) for the year 2022 to the airline managers and travel agents regarding amendment and introduction of service fees at Qatari airports.

According to the report, the circular stated that it had been decided to amend and introduce service fees at Qatari airports, including reviewing the current passenger fees and adding new fees for passengers, that include security fees and air freight infrastructure fees.

The circular also indicated that these fees will be applied as of April 1, 2022, from 00:00, so that the new fees will be applied to all tickets issued on or after February 1, 2022, said The Penninsula.

The circular also attached the new and amended fees, which are as follows:

1. Airport development fees
   1. All departing passengers including transit up to 24 hours: QR 60 per passenger.
2. Passenger facilities fee
   1. All departing passengers including transfers up to and including 24 hours: QR 60 per passenger
3. Passenger safety and security fees
   1. All departing passengers including transfers up to and including 24 hours: QR 10 per passenger
   2. *For all the above charges (1-3) the exemptions are:
      1. A baby under two years old without a seat
      2. Passengers transiting on the same plane
      3. The flight crew on duty
      4. Forced flight redirection due to technical difficulties, weather conditions or other valid reasons.
4. Air freight station fees
   1. All incoming and in-transit cargo shipments including postage: QR 10 per metric ton
   2. Exempted from these fees are:
      1. Shipments remaining on the same aircraft will not be subject to a fee.
