First digital parking service launched smart platform

The Ministry of Transport announced on 27 October 2022 that Qatar's first smart parking service has been launched.

The Smart Parking Service aims to provide users with a smooth parking experience by providing information on the available parking spaces and allowing them to find out and reach parking spots, using their mobile phones.

The Smart Parking service is in line with the Smart Qatar Program (TASMU) program which includes five smart sectors.

Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Municipality, and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) collaborated to ensure the successful inauguration of this smart service.

Locations with smart parking service

The Smart Parking service will be available in prime locations like Corniche and West Bay.

Additionally, it will include 28,000 parking spots in Souq Waqif, Al Bidaa Park, Corniche, Gate Mall, Lusail & Msheireb. Parking in other locations will be added.

It was mentioned by H.E. Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti that “The Smart Parking project provides direct data, supported by best recommendations and real-time forecasts about available parking spaces, which enables reducing the mobility time for drivers on the roads and contributes to the achievement of a key performance indicator for the transportation sector, which is reducing traffic congestion and delays on the roads. The project also helps diminish environmental pollution by minimizing the duration of the car journey and the inefficient operation of the vehicle's engine, which directly reduces harmful emissions to the environment, in line with the strategic objectives of the transportation sector."

The service aims to ease the difficulties of vehicle drivers by making all parking spaces in Qatar available digitally by using the latest parking sensors.

It was also mentioned that future features are expected to include pre-booking, parking sessions management, enabling various "Find My Car" choices

How can the service be used

  • The service can be access through the TASMU mobile application - Android | iOS
