The official Twitter account of Doha Metro & Lusail Tram announced a service update on 19 and 25 March 2022 and has said that the Doha Metro services on the Gold Line only will be replaced with alternative services. This is due to an ongoing programme of essential system upgrades across the network.

As per the announcement:

• At Al Aziziyah, M313 and M312 metrolink routes will extend to Sport City.
• All replacement buses are electric.
• Replacement buses towards Msheireb will not stop at Al Waab QLM.
• Replacement buses running in both directions will not stop at Souq Waqif.
• The nearest station to Souq Waqif is Msheireb you can get a train or Metro replacement bus to this station.
• Replacement buses will run to Al Bidda to allow you to Transfer to/from the green and red lines.
• At Ras Bu Abboud, metrolink M316 operations will shift to Shelter-2.
• Replacement buses can carry up to 60 people.
• Replacement buses between Sport City and Ras Bu Abboud will run every 5 minutes.
• Replacement Bus Services start and end at the same time as the Gold Line Metro service.
• A shuttle replacement service will run between Bin Mahmoud and Al Sadd only.
