In a Tweet, the Doha Metro & Lusail Tram has announced that due to Corniche road closures, Doha Metro will be open for the public on 6th August 2021 from 14:00 to 23:59. There was also an update that due to essential systems upgrades across the network, Metro services will continue to be suspended on 13 and 20 August 2021.

Doha Metro & Lusail Tram announced on its social media channels on 3 July 2021 that the metro will be undergoing a system upgrade and therefore services will be suspended on Fridays between 9th July and 13th August, and also during the Eid holidays between 21st and 24th of July.
The upgrade is to increase the network capacity, allowing more trains to operate and providing more frequent services to customers in the future.
Doha Metro & Lusail Tram also mentioned that in order to minimize the inconvenience to their customers, they have chosen dates that have historically carried the fewest passengers.
