Several victims were immediately transported to nearby hospitals for treatment but none with life threatening injuries.

NYPD’s Counter Terrorism Unit, Police and Fire personnel are actively monitoring the situation and cause of the blast.

A visitor from Colorado shared that he heard a big boom at around 8:30 pm. He felt like concussive wave, heading towards him. From a distance, he saw a cloud of white smoke, that came from the left side of 23rd Street near Sixth. Only smoke but no fire.

Due to the blast, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority shut down Seventh Avenue between 23rd and 25th Streets, and 23rd Street between the Avenue of the Americas and Eighth Avenue and delayed subway services.
