Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2017 set a scene of fairytale luxury on Monday as it was opened by His Excellency Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, at Doha Exhibition and Conference Center (DECC) in the heart of Doha’s business district.
Unlocking the majestic wrought iron gates, especially created to replace the traditional opening ribbons, Their Excellencies, unveiled the entrance to this year’s theme ‘Once upon a time… luxury.’ Under this theme, the exhibition’s 2017 edition showcases an exclusive collection of gemstones and timepieces which visitors can view and purchase until February 25th.

From inviting visitors to be watchmakers for a day, to offering a rare glimpse of Hollywood glamour, Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2017 (DJWE) has confirmed its position as the essential event on the international luxury exhibition calendar. The Harcourt Studio, which has told the story of Hollywood’s biggest stars since the 1940s, enables visitors to have their portraits taken and create an elegant exhibition memento in the privacy of their studio, recreated outside Paris for the first time at DJWE.
The fourteenth DJWE also presents the Young Qatari Designers, an initiative launched for the first time this edition, allowing emerging Qatari designers to shine in their own dedicated exhibition space. Exhibiting local talents include: Fajr Al Attiya (Trifoglio); Ghada Al Bouanain (Ghada Al Bouanian); Nada Al Sulaiti (Hairaat); Noor Al Fardan (Noudar); Nouf Al Meer (Nouf Jewellery); and Sarah Al Hammadi (Sarah’s & Co).

DJWE 2017 is brought to its visitors by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), who together with this year’s partners, Auditoire, gives discerning visitors an exclusive experience; one that brings together authentic hospitality with cosmopolitan sophistication.
