If you want to explore art and design related to religion, culture, and social justice then visiting art exhibition by Othman Khunj would be a perfect choice for you. The exhibition is an open invitation to people from different cultural backgrounds and religious faiths to embrace each other’s similarities and differences. The emerging Doha-based artist, Othman Khunji, is presenting his solo exhibition entitled, Deconstructing the Sacred, as a response to populist narratives that misrepresent religious practices, misinterpret social customs, and misconstrue cultural behaviors.
‘Deconstructing the Sacred’ is Khunji’s first solo exhibition in Qatar, and features interactive installations created through the use and application of innovative technology, including 3D printing, Arduino technology, laser cutting, neon glass heat bending, and water jet engraving.
Khunji is well renowned in the local art and design community for his subtle yet thought provoking work. He has previously exhibited at Msheireb Museums; Katara Cultural Village; Garage Gallery, Fire Station; The Shangri-La Hotel, Doha, The New York Times Art for Tomorrow Conference at The W Hotel, Doha; Kraftwerk Berlin; Menier and Saatchi Gallery, London.
