Rosemary Morrell Winter is an English artist born in the village of Beaulieu in southern England in 1940. She studied art at The Bath Academy of Art where she received a National Diploma of Design in painting and lithography.
During her many years in the field of painting the contemporary Qatari world, she takes on the role of historian, showing Qatar the past and of the present, the old and the new. Her painting becomes historic testimony of the beautiful architecture of the past and the flamboyant buildings of today.
Like any great realist painter, Rosemary Morrell seeks ‘sincerity in the art’. She strives to capture the atmosphere of her compositions with a desire to ‘stick to reality’ through the landscapes, the work of expression, structure and style. Her paintings take audiences to the material reality of the country as one feels invited to enter the canvas and be part of it.
