    Do you know all about Dugongs in Qatar and other fun facts? The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) in collaboration with ExxonMobil Research Qatar (EMRQ) is currently running an exhibition on Dugongs. This exhibition introduces these amazing creatures and their habitat through fun facts and interactive exhibits. You will also get to learn about the important work of scientists studying Dugongs in Qatar and how we can protect them and their environment through both science and everyday actions.     YOC Photography Exchange: Call for Photograph Submissions

    This event is an open call to all American nationals who are currently living in Qatar or have recently visited the country, to submit their own photographs along the theme: QATARI LANDSCAPE AND ENVIRONMENTALISM. The aim of this exhibition is to focus on the changing Qatari landscape, wildlife, and the initiatives that are in place to convert this.

    Qatar Museums Public Art Student Open Call

    This is an exciting event to take part in! Qatar Museums Public Art Student Open Call invites students to propose a public artwork to be created with recycled materials to bring more awareness to Qatar Museum’s ‘no waste’ policy for a temporary installation to be displayed in public spaces. Up to five winning proposals will be chosen, and the selected students will be granted up to QR 25,000 to realize their concept by December 2021. For more information click here.

    Ajyal Film Festival Jury Programme 2021

    If your kids love films then be sure to sign them up for the Ajyal Film Festival. The festival lasts for 13 days and you can discover global cultures through the powerful medium of film. Last year, Ajyal welcomed over 400 jurors of 45 nationalities—you can be one of them this year!

    Join the Ajyal Film Festival Jury from 7 – 19 November 2021.

    As an Ajyal Juror, you will get to:

    1. Watch short and feature-length films from all over the world, both online and in the theatre.
    2. Vote for your favourite films and choose the Ajyal Competition winners.
    3. Meet internationally renowned and thought-provoking guests.
    4. Attend online workshops and masterclasses on filmmaking techniques and film language.

    Jury Categories

    There are three Ajyal Competition juries in three age groups. They are:

    • Mohaq: Mohaq means ‘New Moon’ in Arabic, and these are Ajyal’s youngest jurors, aged 8 to 12. The young people of this jury will watch a programme of short films and four feature-length films.
    • Hilal: Ajyal’s jurors aged 13 to 17 make up the Hilal jury – the term means ‘Crescent Moon’ in Arabic. Four feature films and a programme of shorts make up the Hilal jury’s festival programme.
    • Bader: The most mature of Ajyal’s juries, Bader (Arabic for ‘Full Moon’) jurors are aged 18 to 25 and will select their favourite films from five features and two programmes of short films.

    How to Register

    You’re just a few clicks away from joining the Ajyal Jury experience for 2021. The registration is open from 22 August to 24 October, and you must be between the ages of 8 and 25 to enroll. The registration process will require a one-time participation fee to secure your place, as outlined below.

    • Early Bird (if registered before 22 September): QR 150
    • Standard Fee: QR 250
    • Discounted* Fee (Siblings and Qatar Museums Culture Pass Members): QR 200
