May 3, 2020: Live Online Yoga Sessions

Join every Wednesday in an online yoga session Organized by Qatar Foundation. These sessions will help you maintain calmness through various postures and breathing exercises.

May 4, 2020: Webinar on Eco-Schools Best Practices

As the core of our Eco-Schools program is to educate and raise awareness among students, families, and the community, QGBC is hosting this Eco-Schools Best Practices Webinar.

Participating with us will be Pramod Kumar and Nicole Andreou, from The Eco-schools International along with Soumia Masmoudi, A sustainability advocate and artist. We will also hear from our eco-schools committee representatives from The American School of Doha and GEMS American Academy Qatar.

The panelists will share examples of sustainable practices applied internationally and nationally to encourage people confined to their homes due to the Covid19 pandemic to take action to improve their homes and be more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Additionally, the students will share tips, good habits, and practices they gained from the eco-schools’ program to help you reduce your carbon footprint while at home.

May 5, 2020: Debating Social Movements

This is one of six sessions about popular theories and philosophies discussed in debates. Students will engage in lively discussions and research with coaches on subjects including economic principles, international relations, ethics and morals, among many others.     This year, Education City Mosque has partnered up with Ilyas & Duck™ to make it a fun, engaging, and rewarding experience for the whole family! Ilyas and Duck will be live on YouTube and Facebook every day during the month of Ramadan. Their special mini-series will help guide children through their journeys of self-awareness and self-improvement. You and your children will be able to interact directly with these characters on the live show through the comments.     May 8, 2020: Free online family workshops

    The Qatar Children’s Museum (QCM)by Qatar Museums (QM) hosts daily workshops on its Instagram account (@ChildrensMuseum.QA) that families can participate in using everyday materials found in their homes. The content is suitable for both Arabic and English-speaking audiences which helps to aid families that are sheltering at home during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

    May 9, 2020: BigB Meetup Celebrating Garangao

    BigB MeetUp is a community initiative founded by Bosco Menezes. The aim of this initiative is to inspire, inform, educate and spread the news of the good deeds individuals and groups of people perform in their everyday lives for the betterment of humankind.

    BigB MeetUp is celebrating Garangao online at 8pm on Saturday, 9th May. Send your videos of kids singing the popular Grangao song and they will be shared on a live session of the weekly virtual #bigmeetup. The deadline to send videos is 12 pm, 8 May 2020.
