The event will be held from October 31 to November 7, 2020. Individuals can register their pledge to make changes in their lifestyle, while corporate organizations can pledge to implement policies that help protect and sustain the environment, as well as register their sustainability-oriented activity, initiative, or event to become a QSW 2020 partner.

      Morning Paddling Adventure & Explore Mangrove - Purple Island

      Nestled along the coast near Al Khor is a vast and beautiful mangrove forest, the best way to access the forest is by kayak.       Ajyal Film Festival Jury Programme 2020

      Join the Ajyal Film Festival Jury from 11 – 23 November 2020. As an Ajyal Juror, you will:
      1. Watch short and feature-length films from all over the world.
      2. Vote for your favourite films and choose the Ajyal Competition winners.
      3. Meet many film directors and actors through our online platform.
      4. Attend online workshops on filmmaking techniques and film language.

      How to Register:

      A registration fee of 50 QR is required to confirm your interest. Registration is open from 20 August to 31 October 2020. You must be between the ages of 8 and 25 to be an Ajyal Juror.

      Yto Barrada: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nougat

      Currently displayed at Mathaf is Yto Barrada's exhibition composed of photographs, films, videos, sculptures, prints, and fabric works that focus on "threads of regeneration and growth in social and geological transformation". The works highlight the importance of the vernacular in processes of decomposition and revival, drawing on histories of nation-building and post-independence strategies of resistance in social and domestic life. An award-winning artist who has also held numerous solo exhibitions internationally, Moroccan-French artist Yto Barrada’s work engages with self-education, architecture, palaeontology, botany, and modernist histories, in order to explore forms of knowledge production.

      Antiquities from The al-Sabah Collection at NMOQ

      The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) will reopen its permanent galleries and unveil the landmark exhibition, Splendours of the Ancient East: Antiquities from The al-Sabah Collection, in its Temporary Exhibition Gallery. Drawn from the extraordinary holdings assembled in Kuwait by Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah and Sheikha Hussa Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, more than 170 objects provide a sweeping overview of the artistic and material culture of the ancient world, while also revealing new insights into the roots of Islamic art.
