What are they looking for:
Want to do something fun? The Salwa Beach Fest is back, with a selection of delicious food, drinks, carnival games, clown shows, face painting, art and crafts and much more. Escape the city and have a blast, with food stalls starting at 12 pm.
A great thing for kids to take part in, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the Doha Film Institute (DFI) have announced the launch of a short story competition for teenagers aged 13-17 years old.
The competition aims to hone the creative talent of youth. Three of the best stories will be selected by a jury, and the winners will have the opportunity to take part in this year’s special edition of The Ajyal Film Festival as jurors in the Hilal - "Crescent Moon" in Arabic – Category, which consists of four feature films and a programme of shorts. How amazing is this?!
Points to note:
Souq Waqif is a must-visit place for all in Qatar. This guided tour will allow guests to explore the local culture, identify traditional architecture and enlighten their senses through an immersive experience. Visit and learn more about the Falcon market, the carpet shops, the perfume market, the art centre and more!
Love art? This exhibition is for you. It features productions and reproductions of Batniji’s art created between 1997 and 2022. The artist lived in France during this period, but his work is about Palestine. Although the exhibition’s title refers to one of this artist's works, the works on display include photos, drawings, videos, installations, and performances that will capture the audience. Will you be going?!
Another art exhibition to attend is this contemporary one. The Fire Station curators invited Artists In Residence alumni to participate in a six-month-long program to develop new works exclusively for this exhibition that celebrates five years of a programme supporting local and regional artists.
