This is a great opportunity for artists in Qatar. Artist in Residence is an annual nine-month residency programme, from September to June, where artists are given studio space in one of the five floors of the Fire Station building. The residency allows artists to develop their art practice through the programme, which includes mentorship, working with curators, open studios, and access to the building’s facilities (fabrication lab, woodshop, and exhibition spaces).
They are also given the opportunity to showcase their artworks by the end of their residency in an exhibition in the Garage Gallery at the Fire Station. For more information and to apply, click here.
Do you love visiting art exhibitions? Explore this one by Kader Attia, brought to you by Qatar Museums. This exhibition reflects on silence through works that provoke an appreciation of postcolonial trauma and the process of psychiatric ‘repair’. Are you ready for this one of a kind experience?
