The Ministry of Culture and Sports (MoCS) announced the launch of Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) as a substitute for AM and FM broadcasting technology, in a move aimed at keeping up Qatar, in terms of the latest broadcasting technology, and contributing in the reduction of broadcasting expenses.
In a press conference held yesterday, Sheikha Najla Al Thani, Director of Broadcasting Licensing Department at MoCS, said that DAB project will attract more demand for the new technology-based broadcasting channels, starting next September, so that Qatar becomes the first Gulf country to implement the digital broadcasting system.
