Before getting this mouse I didn't have any issue with the mouse that I was using. It was a good gaming mouse that was perfect for me, I even thought it was the best mouse within its price range.

I was proven wrong with the very first use, there is so much right about this mouse. As a tech enthusiast, I knew this company and I was certainly expecting a good mouse, and this blew me away! I'm sure you're wondering what is so special about this product? It's just a mouse, right?
Let me explain: a perfect set of keyboard and mouse will definitely make you more efficient at work/gaming. A very good mouse gives you more comfort and precision while gaming and that's what this does!
One of the big draws is that the mouse comes with 2 different shells, 2 mouse buttons, and 2 DPI buttons in the box. With the Ultra Custom, it’s easy to customize your mouse. There are many colour options available on the Store974 website.
Note: The mouse button covers are solid but the body cover shells are both honeycomb and solid. And the sides of the mouse are not changeable.
This was my first honeycomb mouse and it has a nice grip, is lightweight, and helps with ease of movement. It floats like an air hockey puck to me compared to my previous mouse!
The body of the mouse is made of high-quality plastic and it feels sturdy to me. Considering how much of it you can remove and replace, it's actually pretty amazing how solid this mouse feels.
The shape here is an extremely comfortable ergonomic shape that is just a bit smaller in length. The mouse lends itself quite well to a palm grip even for people with larger hands and even felt comfortable with the claw-and-fingertip gripping as well.
The Ultra Custom’s body with the solid cover weighs 73g which is pretty light for a gaming mouse of this calibre. Changing the shells or removing them definitely has an effect on the weight of the mouse.
If you swap the cover to the honeycomb cover the weight is reduced to 65g, this does make a difference for me personally. The 10g weight difference might not seem much but will make the mouse even more comfortable for those who want to use it for long hours.
Pwnage has placed an emphasis on the battery life of the Ultra Custom and it shows. Manufacturer specs clock the battery at 66 hours for general office work and about 44 hours for gaming. During my testing of the mouse, I did not run out of battery, it works as advertised. It’s impressive how long wireless mice can last these days.
Plug in this mouse after a couple of days of use and you’ll find that it will charge in a matter of minutes. It uses a USB-C wire to plug in and charge and it is fast. I kept the mouse plugged in for a bit to test out the wired mode but I'd prefer the wireless mode as it is much cleaner.
As any other mouse in this gen, this mouse is just as good in wireless mode. I think we're past the point of wireless mice having any sort of noticeable latency. It shows no difference in wired or wireless mode. You can connect the mouse to your PC/laptop with its USB module, its plug and play. There is no setup or anything that you'd have to go through to use this mouse.
If you want you can also download the software for further customization like mapping different actions to the mouse buttons or to increase or decrease the DPI* or changing the RGB lighting of the mouse.
*DPI means Dot Per Inch. For example, if a mouse has 1600 DPI, then, if you move your mouse one inch (2.54 cm), the mouse pointer will move 1600 pixels. The higher the DPI, the more sensitive the mouse is. So, if you move the mouse even a tiny bit, the pointer will move a huge distance across the screen.
This mouse comes with 200 - 16000 DPI which is really crazy and you can switch between different DPI modes using the dedicated DPI button on the mouse.
Mouse feet here feel fantastic when combined with the wireless nature of the Ultra Custom. Pwnage uses 100% PTFE mouse feet to ensure the best glide possible, and it really does show. There are four mouse feet on the edges of the mouse and one surrounding the sensor.
While the sensor is of great importance, the feel of a mouse can often be ruined with sub-par mouse feet, so it’s always a plus when it's done right. Pwnage uses a pmw3335 optical sensor in the Ultra Custom and it’s a solid performer. The glides are smooth and do well in all situations.
When using the honeycomb shell, you will be able to see the Pwnage logo light up when the mouse is not in use. There is also a visible strip of light on the back end that is barely visible in bright light conditions and during use. The RGB also cuts out when the mouse is moved, which seems to be a power-saving feature.
The only useful implementation of RGB lighting on the Ultra Custom is on the scroll wheel, which indicates DPI mode. RGB lighting seems to be here only for the RGB fans. The RGB lighting itself is very pretty but not visible at any point during use, so it just seems like it’s included for the sake of inclusion. This is perhaps one of my least favourite features about this mouse, maybe it's just me. But don't get me wrong, it does have really good RGB lights.
The Pwnage Ultra Custom Optical Wireless Gaming Mouse is one of the best mice I have ever used. There’s a lot of value to be had right now in the level of customization found with this mouse.
