The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has announced the opening of applications for participation in the third edition of 'Make Your Deal' program for startups and entrepreneurs, until the date of October 15. The process of screening the applications and directing the necessary guidance to participants is scheduled October 20.

Organized by MoTC, the program is one of the key events to be held within the Entrepreneurship Zone at this year's Qatar Information Technology and Communication Conference and Exhibition - QITCOM 2019, set to be held from October 29 to November 1, 2019 at Qatar National Convention Center.

The program, which is an opportunity to connect emerging technology companies with local, regional and international investors, aims to foster an entrepreneurial and investment climate by allowing entrepreneurs and startups to offer realistic solutions in emerging technology-related areas such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, smart home technology, augmented reality, cybersecurity and big data.

In its third edition, the program will allow startups and entrepreneurs to compete to present their business ideas to investors at QITCOM 2019.

Before reaching the final stage of presenting ideas at 'Make Your Deal' event, all selected participants will have the opportunity to receive individual guidance from international experts on how to present their ideas and invite them to a networking event prior to the actual launch of the program.

The final presentation of ideas will be presented to investors on the creative stage during QITCOM 2019, where the winners will receive investment deals and incubation offers for their projects and companies.

QITCOM 2019, in its fifth edition under the theme 'Safe, Smart Cities', dedicated an Entrepreneurship Zone to strengthen the relationship between investors and startups, and to invite innovators, entrepreneurs and those interested in IT development to identify digital entrepreneurship.

This year, the Entrepreneurial Zone is expected to receive around 300 entrepreneurs, along with 100 local, regional and international startups offering its products and services across 5 key events.

MOTC's Assistant Undersecretary, Digital Society Development Reem Al Mansoori, said she was pleased to announce the start of receiving applications from those who wish to participate in the program this year, stressing that the program has become a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet investors and build a global network of relationships and business development, as it establishes a link between entrepreneurs and startups and investors before the final presentation of ideas, and a good opportunity to find the necessary financial support for entrepreneurs and startups.

Al Mansoori stressed that the Ministry is keen to invite innovators to participate in the activities of QITCOM 2019, pointing out that the conference in its fifth edition will give companies the opportunity to provide real solutions that are vital to citizens and residents of Qatar.

Al Mansoori added that the Conference will spearhead this effort and encourage learning and innovation among startups and innovators while at the same time bringing them together with investors to promote their business to serve the country's goals of achieving a transition to a knowledge-based economy.
