On Saturday, 15 October 2022, students from the International School Of London (ISL) went to Geek Street and Store 974 on the 1st floor of Tower 3 at The Gate Mall to learn about PC building and tech and took part in a gaming competition.
Their mission here started with the students learning the inner workings of PC building from the expert technicians in their state-of-the-art Store 974 Build Bar. The students were given a complete and thorough lesson on all the PC components and a walkthrough on how the parts are combined to create a monster gaming rig.
They also explored Geek Street, where they participated in a 2 VS 2 Minecraft Build Off Tournament. The students were given a theme, building parameters and time constraints that they had to follow to keep the competition interesting while remaining fair and balanced across the board.
Lastly, the students from the International School Of London (ISL) got the chance to explore and experience Store 974’s tech, have fun talking to staff, enjoy arcade cabinets, driving simulators, and more.
This experience was part of a joint initiative between Store 974 and the International School Of London (ISL) to encourage students to learn all about tech and to create the first successful e-sports program in the region. The initiative has seen other schools join in too. It provides a platform for students to learn, collaborate and compete in a friendly environment while putting their newly acquired knowledge to practical use.
Store 974 is Qatar's first PC Gaming Store and is a one-stop-shop for a gamer's needs. You can find and shop the latest products in the gaming world. Their main branch is at The Gate Mall, and they will be opening other branches at the Mall of Qatar and Place Vendôme in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
