Social Media apps like Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook suffered a global outage on Friday evening, 19 March 2021 before coming back up.

Many users complained of not being able to see, message or post on these apps on both Android and iOS. Users from many countries, including Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, parts of US and India have reported service outage (Source: anandmarket.in). A lot of users in Qatar also faced the same issue.

According to Downdetector, a website that offers real-time status and outage information that users consider vital to their everyday lives and work, these were the outages reported:

After about 45 minutes of being down, the apps were back up and Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Gaming Tweeted about the same.
