UCI Road World Championships Doha 2016 and Q-Auto (Volkswagen) Partnership

The Organizing Committee of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Road World Championships – Doha 2016, which relies on the unrelenting support of its venue stakeholders such as Qatar Foundation and UDC, The Pearl – Qatar, is in the process of building key partnerships to help make this event world-class. The Championships require high quality, safe, and championship-quality transportation, as part of the vision to produce first-class efforts at hosting the World Championships in Doha.

After assessing many transportation options for these World Championships, the Organizing Committee of the UCI Road World Championships – Doha 2016 announced that Q-Auto, the official Volkswagen dealer in Qatar, was chosen as its official transport partner. Speaking on Q-Auto’s official transport partner status, Sheikh Khaled bin Ali Al Thani, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of UCI Road World Championships – Doha 2016 said, “As a world-class sports city hosting the most important road cycling championship, it is with great pleasure that we introduce Q-Auto, the official Volkswagen dealer in Qatar as our official transport partner. There is an excellent fit between our two brands, as both appreciate high performance and precision. We look forward to building this partnership into a mutually-beneficial relationship."

Mr. Ahmed Shariefi, Acting General Manager at Q-Auto also remarked on his company becoming Official Transport Partner. “We are pleased to be a part of such a world-class event and to support Qatar’s great sport ambitions. We believe Volkswagen will be well positioned to benefit from our transportation partnership as we connect with fans," Shariefi said.
