The Qatar Athletics Federation announced on 27 April 2023 that there were two gold medal victories for Qatar on the second day of the West Asian Athletics Championships 2023.

Ammar Ismail achieved the gold medal for the 400-meter race in the men's category with a time of 47.33 seconds.

Qatar also won the gold medal for the 400-meter race in the women's category, won by Sajaa Saadoun with a time of 59.65 seconds.

The championship is taking place from 26 to 29 April 2023 at the Qatar Sports Club.
