In keeping with the legendary sports affiliations of Turkish Airlines, the award-winning global carrier will kick-off the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup 2015 on March 14, 2015 at Doha Golf Club in Qatar. The tournament expands on the success of past editions to include qualifying events in 65 destinations worldwide.
An exceptional number of amateur golfers are participating in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup globallyacross 12 qualifying eventsat the most renowned courses across 65 participating destinations worldwide.
The players at the Doha qualifying round include Turkish Airlines guests, to members of the Turkish Corporate Club and business partners, providing them an opportunity to play competitively at one of the finest golf venues in the Gulf and take part in an informal networking environment.
Mehmed Kursad Caymaz, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Qatar, said: “We are thrilled to host this match of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup in Doha, and look forward to seeing the winners compete in the final later this year.”
The competition will be in an individual stableford format with the field being split into two equal divisions, based on handicap. The best net winner from each division will join the grand final as guests of Turkish Airlines. Maximum handicap limits are 28 for men and 36 for ladies.
Additionally, to be eligible to qualify for the grand finals, the winner must provide evidence that he/she has completed five rounds of individual golf which qualifies for handicap within the 12 months prior to the date of the qualifying event.
The grand final will take place in October at one of the most prestigious resorts in Belek, Turkey. The prize will include participation in the grand final of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, return Business Class flights to/from Antalya with the airline all-inclusive at a 5-star hotel.
The winners of the grand final in Belek this October will also get the chance to play the Turkish Open PRO AM with one of the world’s best golfers.
