The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (ADLSA), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will organise the first ever Qatar ‘Workers Fun Run’ on Friday 26 April 2019.

The 5 km run brings together migrant workers from many sectors in a fun and unique event that promotes togetherness and good health. The event encourages people from all backgrounds and walks of life to come together and celebrate the importance of unity and diversity.

Qatar and the ILO are working together to implement an ambitious labour reform agenda. The run will provide the ideal opportunity to celebrate the positive changes that have taken place so far. It will also mark the one-year anniversary of the opening of the ILO Project Office in Qatar, coinciding with International Worker’s Day (May 1). H.E. Yousef bin Mohamed Al-Othman Fakhroo, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour & Social Affairs, will wave the flag to start the event at 8 am sharp.

While participants in this first edition of the ‘Workers Fun Run’ will mainly be drawn from a select number of companies, it is our great pleasure to invite you and your family to join us at Aspire Park to cheer on the runners. It will be of such great value and meaning to the workers and give us all a happy feeling.
