Salem Al Hajri has made steady progress to become one of the best midfielders in Qatar and the Sadd player said they would try their best against Monterrey in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup happening today.
"This is an important match after we managed to qualify for the quarterfinals. Monterrey are a strong team and very well organised. We will give everything we have and we will work to display a level appropriate for Al Sadd and honour Qatari football," said Al Hajri at the pre-match press conference.
"Al Sadd finished third in the Club World Cup in 2011 and this motivates us to achieve a good position in Qatar. We have great confidence to go far."
Al Sadd defeated Hienghne Sport in the first match, but Al Hajri said their real challenge would start now.
"Participation in such important tournaments is a dream for every player and meeting Monterrey is the real beginning for the team in the Club World Cup."
