It has been announced in an article by Volleyball World that the Qatar team has bagged the winning title at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 tournament on March 27, 2022 in Rosarito, Mexico.
Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan played in an undefeatable manner, leaving no space for a win by Dutch players; Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen.
This becomes the third international title that the two team members have claimed in partnership; also being the second time in Mexico specifically. Furthermore, adds another gold medal to the existing span of 11 international beach volleyball medals under their names; as three golds, four silvers & four bronzes
Cherif Younousse expressed his sentiments towards their victory and the challenges they faced by saying:
“It’s a great feeling to win the first Elite 16 tournament of the Beach Pro Tour,”, “This tournament was so hard, every match felt like a final and it had Olympic level. It was another opportunity to prove we're one of the best. Mexico has been bringing great luck to us as we made it to the final three times last year in Cancun and now here. Rosarito will be forever in my heart.”
The game was one that was nail-biting given the confrontation against Olympic bronze medallists but equally entertaining given the exciting playing style that both the Qatari players bring out throughout the game.
