Tala Abu Jubara and Mohamed Al Rumaihi to raise Qatar's flags at Olympics Opening Ceremony

Qatar Olympic Committee announced that Tala Abu Jubara and Mohamed Al Rumaihi will raise Qatar's flag at the opening of the Tokyo Olympics tomorrow Friday.

This will be the first Olympics edition where two athletes carry their country's flag.

The Tokyo Olympics will finally start, following a delay of one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The opening ceremony will take place at 2 PM Doha time, with the Emperor of Japan Naruhito attending. It is expected that a host of heads of states and their representatives will attend the opening ceremony as well.

Abu Jubara said she was proud to represent Qatari girls at the Tokyo Olympics, adding she was excited to compete at the highest level on her first participation at the Olympics. She said she hopes to develop her performance level. Abu Jubara had lived in Japan previously for three years, she highlighted that she was delighted to be back, adding that she only had good memories in Japan.
