The Organising Committee of the Doha 2019 IAAF World Championships in Athletics provides a unique opportunity for thousands of students from different schools in Qatar to play a vital role in the largest sporting event of its kind in the Middle East within a programme for school students of all ages and nationalities.

The programme offers a range of activities to be held as part of the tournament preparations, providing an opportunity for creative students to shine stories, reports, and interviews with athletes who will arrive in Doha in September to participate in the tournament.

The program seeks to encourage students to innovate in the field of sport as students from 5 to 18 years will be able to participate in the creative drawing competitions that will be held at Khalifa International Stadium and participate in promoting athletes in the competitions and the winners will work as journalists during the tournament.

His Excellency Major General Dahlan Juman Al Hamad, the vice-chairman of the Organising Committee, said that sport has a special ability to bring together people and individuals under its umbrella, where different cultures unite under their banner and create friendships.

"Our efforts, as we spread the message of sport in general and athletics, especially among children and young people in Qatar, will contribute to enhancing the excitement as the Doha 2019 IAAF World Championships in Athletics approaches, and everyone in Doha is invited to participate in a successful, memorable event," he added.

Sheikha Asma Al Thani, director of marketing and liaison at the Organising Committee, said that everyone in Doha from different nationalities and ages is excited about the Doha 2019 IAAF World Championships in Athletics, adding that the school programme will bring students together and share different cultures before the tournament, which will bring together the best athletes from 213 countries around the world.

She added that the programme will provide great opportunities for future generations to be part of this event by introducing creative art competitions and journalism, ensuring that the sport plays its part in education and encourages students by engaging their schools, calling on everyone to participate in the programme.

During the duration of the programme, the local Organising Committee will work with thousands of students from government and private schools in Qatar to create unique opportunities to attend the tournament by winning tickets by offering educational competitions.
