His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Arab Gulf Cup Federation, won a new term in office by acclamation during the regular general assembly meeting of the regional federation that was held in the Qatari capital, Doha.

H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani will hold his position for four years until 2027. His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association, was re-elected in May 2019.

In this regard, H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani expressed his happiness with the confidence he had gained from the member federations to lead the Gulf football helm since the establishment of the Arab Gulf Cup Federation, which was born in 2016.

His Excellency added: “The next stage will witness a great development, especially after the articles of association of the Arabian Gulf Cup Federation were amended. In light of these amendments, various tournaments will be created under the umbrella of the federation and there are many ideas that are being studied at the level of club championships and the age groups that we attach."
