The traffic and airport security units of the IAAF 2019 World Athletics Championships Doha organising committee prepared Saturday their process of facilitating access to Khalifa International Stadium, which will host the opening ceremony.

The airport also dedicated special counters at the airport for arriving delegations. Fahd Bohendi, who is in charge of traffic at the security committee, said that his unit is ready to secure the roads that lead to the event's venues after completing a comprehensive plan to facilitate traffic movement. He noted that there will be patrols on the roads leading to the Corniche around the hour on the day of the opening ceremony, and added that there are back up plans in case of any emergencies.

He pointed out that the unit's preparations for the championship started two years ago, work has been divided according to the available time and the closer the date of the start of the tournament, the security work has been intensified in terms of processing traffic personnel and security plans for the hotels that will host the participating delegations. He added that the Corniche closure will not affect traffic due to the presence of alternative routes. He stressed on the importance of cooperation between the public and drivers with police patrols. He called on the public to use alternative methods of transport such as the Metro and Buses.
