RasGas: Supporting the Vision 2nd Annual Qatarization Celebration Recognises National Talent

As the State of Qatar prepares to celebrate its national day RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) held its second annual Qatarization celebration. With more than 750 employees and many high profile guests including Dr. Sheikha Abdulla Al Misnad, President of Qatar University, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum andIssa Mohammed Al Mohannadi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority in attendance, the event reflected the company’s ongoing commitment to quality Qatarization.

As part of the celebration, RasGas recognised 161 Qatari employees, who have completed significant milestones in their careers, and also their coaches and mentors, who played a pivotal role in empowering national talents.

Speaking at the event, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, RasGas Chief Executive Officer said:“In RasGas, we focus on sustainable development through creating a comprehensive learning organisation. We provide a structured system of recruitment, on the job training, coaching, mentoring and career development, with the aim of attracting, retaining and developing quality nationals”.

In line with the Qatar National Vison 2030, RasGas’ Qatarization strategy provides Qatari graduates with an opportunity to join an organisation that offers competitive employment packages, focused learning and training opportunities and, a clear career development path.

RasGas’ quality driven Qatarization strategy has resulted in over 1,200 national employees amongst a 3,800 strong employee base.

Guest speaker and former RasGas employee of ten years, Issa Al Mohannadi shared his inspirational journey within RasGas and encouraged the young graduates to take ownership and be part of the State’s legacy for generations to come.

RasGas is a nationwide leader in Qatarization, following the guidance of its majority shareholder, Qatar Petroleum. RasGas’ quality Qatarization strategy has been repeatedly recognised by the Ministry of Energy and Industry’s crystal award for its commitment to attracting and retaining the highest calibre of national employees. Since 2009, RasGas has been awarded four prestigious Qatarization Crystal Awards.
