Qatar Superstock 600 will kick off in December, QMMF President announced on Friday 28 November during the last round of the MOTUL FIM World Superbike Championship at Losail International Circuit. During the presentation, there was also present Mr. Khalid Al Remaihi, Kenan Sofuoglu and Saeed Al Sulaiti.

During the official presentation, Mr. Abdulrahman Al Mannai (QMMF President) was very pleased to present this new championship ‘ First of all, we are very happy to see a good crowd here at Losail International Circuit and I would like to thank Losail Circuit Sports Club for this great job. It is very exciting for me to announce this new championship. We want to open the doors to new riders and we want to keep the cost down’ QMMF President said.

‘We want to assess the skills of young Qataris riders and this is a fantastic platfom. We want to thank again LCSC for helping us to achieve this. The new championship will be launched in December and it will be composed by 6 rounds’ added Mr. Abdulrahman. ‘All the riders will compete with the best of their racing skills using one-make bike during the rest of the season, so it is a great chance for every rider to test themselves’ ended QMMF President.

Mr. Khalid Al Remaihi, Losail Circuit Sports Club Vice Chairman and Secretary General is also happy with the start of this new championship. ‘ We are so excited t‎o see this round starting in December. This is a perfect platform to nurture young talent. It is an opportunity for riders locally from the region, even from Turkey and neighourbourg countries to participate it. It is our pleasure to have finally a championshp like this where the competition level is same for everyone, so it is your talent that proves if you are good or not. Also it is a great assessment for us to aassess our riders, so everybody is welcome to join us’ ended Al Remaihi.

The 5 times WorldSupersport Champion, Kenan Sofuoglu was also present in the press conference ‘ I have to say congratulations to Qatar. Superstock is a class where many riders want to start this class. I started six years ago. I know what this means. It is good for riders to learn from this stage. This a good way to find new talent. We should do some series like what we see in Qatar’ the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider said.

Saeed Al Sulaiti is the only Qatari rider to participate in a full season in the World SBK Championship and score points. ‘To reach the world class category is a dream for me and to take part in this great championship , putting the Qatar flag in the middle of this championship is a great honour and I am very proud about it’ Al Sulaiti said ‘ I am very excited to see this new championship as it will be the first time that all the bikes are the same in a championship here in Qatar and it will be very interesting to see the purely talent of the riders’ ended Al Sulaiti.
