Qatar Football Association (QFA) president H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani has been elected to the FIFA Council, the association tweeted on 1 February 2023.

H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani got 40 votes out of 46 in the elections to select five representatives of the Asian continent in the FIFA Council.

The term length is from 2023 to 2027.
