Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced the names of the Qatari national football team players participating in Copa America camp. The list featured most of the players who won the Asian Cup for the first time in the history of the team.
The list comprises most of the stars of the Qatari team, headed by Almoez Ali, the top scorer of the Asian Cup won by Qatar national team last February at the expense of Japan in the UAE.
The first batch of the Qatari national football team has left for Texas in the United States to enter a camp to prepare for Copa America 2019, which will be hosted by Brazil from June 14 to July 7.
The players, mostly from Al Sadd, Al Duhail and Al Rayyan, are taking part in a short camp in Texas which will continue until May 26th, during which they will practice with coach Felix Sanchez.
The players will then leave for Brazil to take part in the main camp in preparation for the South American Championship.
The Brazil camp will include two friendly matches, the first against Brazil national team on June 5 in Brasilia, and the second match against a Brazilian club on June 9.
Brazil will host the 2019 edition of the tournament and it will be the fifth time for them to host the Copa America, after hosting the 1919, 1922,1949 and 1989 editions.
