In a press release, the Qatar Football Association has announced that the domestic football competitions for the 2019-20 season will be completed between 24 July and 26 August 2020.
"This announcement comes after the coronavirus outbreak had earlier forced the suspension of all matches, to safeguard members of the Qatari football family.
The QFA wishes to confirm that the decision to play in the selected period along with all accompanying preventive procedures, was taken after consultation with authorities in the Ministry of Public Health, with the aim of maintaining the safety of all concerned personnel, including players, staff, officials, and referees.
The QFA also wishes to thank all the unknown healthcare heroes in Qatar who have put in immense efforts to protect the citizens and residents of this country. We pray to Almighty Allah for an end to the coronavirus crisis."
