Qatar Central Bank (QCB), Doha Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and Masraf Al Rayan have successfully qualified for the semi-finals of the Aspire Banks Tournament after beating their respective opponents in last Saturday’s thrilling quarter-finals. The winning teams scored a combined total of 21 goals while conceding only three.

Organised by Aspire Zone Foundation in partnership with the Qatar Central Bank, next week’s semi-finals are expected to see exciting games involving the four strongest teams in the tournament as they each fight it out for a place in the final.

The first match of the night was played between Qatar Central Bank, whose remarkable performance has made them one of tournament favourites, and opponents Ahli Bank. The game finished with an impressive 7-2 win for Qatar Central Bank, with six of their seven goals coming in the first half.

In the second game, Doha Bank shocked spectators with an unexpected 2-0 win against Qatar National Bank, a team that have proven to be one of the strongest competitors in the tournament to date. This victory enabled Doha Bank to jump from fourth to first in the rankings, guaranteeing them a place in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) scored three remarkable goals against Barwa Bank in a hard-fought game that ended 3-1.

The final game between Masraf Al Rayan and Standard Chartered Bank looked one-sided from the outset, with the former securing the biggest win of the night with an eventual score line of 9-0.

Fierce competition is expected in next Saturday’s semi-finals between the remaining four standout teams of the tournament as Qatar Central Bank take on Qatar Islamic Bank at 6:00 pm, followed by Doha Bank’s match against Masraf Al Rayan which kicks off at 7:30 pm.
