Coach of Qatar National team Felix Sanchez said that his team's encounter against Colombia was very difficult.
Speaking at the press conference after the game, he said that the Qatari side played a good match and had chances but were ultimately unlucky to concede a late goal. He said that Colombia scored at a killer time with Qatar close to getting their second point of the campaign. Despite that, Sanchez added, he was pleased with the performance.
He said that he studied Colombia's game plan well and felt that Qatar's approach to the match was the right one as they looked to close the space in front of the Colombian players. He praised his opponents for their technique and speed. He highlighted that they were focused primarily on counterattack, but maintained that it was always difficult to play against teams that press high.
Sanchez concluded his remarks by saying that the Qatari team succeeded despite the loss, especially given the difference in experience. He stressed that they will prepare well for the Argentina match and try to work on some of the mistakes they made today.
