The Qatari Chess team sparkled in the second round of the 2019 Arab Chess Championship being held in Amman, Jordan until July 27.
The event brings together 276 players representing 16 teams including Qatar, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Iraq, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, Palestine, Yemen, UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Oman and hosts Jordan.
Qatar's Saleh Al Hur defeated Jordan's Mohammed Saleh to claim the 10th place in the overall standings of the championship.
In girl's event, Qatar' Lian Qasabi edged past Iraq's Retaj Saad Hassan while her sister Rawda Qasabi overpowered Iraq's Nor Al Zahra Abdulamir.
