Qatari Champion Abdulla Al Khelaifi finished the 1st official race of the second round of the TCR Europe Championship in 16th place. He started the race in 22nd place.
Al Khelaifi finished the race in 23.14.284 minutes. He said that he was generous at the beginning of the race, allowing many racers to get past him. He said that his strategy at that point was to preserve the tires until the end of the race, which allowed him to advance a lot in the final laps of the race.
He said that he will put more pressure in tomorrow's race, given he has nothing to lose. He added that he was pleased with the start he made to the season so far. He is competing with his Leon Cupra TCR, carrying number 96. (QNA)
