Qatari athlete Abdulrahman Saeed Hassan has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 1,500m event after he finished in second place at the II Meeting Challenge Nirtha 2021 in Spain on 12 May 2021, according to the Qatar Athletics Feed Twitter.
The young Qatari athlete was well under the standard qualifying time of 3 minutes and 35 seconds with a personal best time of 3:34.24.

The 24-year-old Hassan will be participating in the Olympics with Adam Ali Musab who has already qualified for the event with a time of 3:32.41 in February 2021. Other Qatari athletes who will be participating in the Olympics are twice world champion high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim, men’s 400m hurdles sensation Abderrahman Samba, hammer thrower Ashraf El-Seify and Abubaker Haydar Abdulla in the 800m. The games will be taking place from 23 July to 8 August 2021, based on a report by the Gulf Times.
