Qatar played its First Round match against Kuwait at the Gulf Cup at Al Minaa Olympic Stadium on 7 January 2023. Amro Siraj scored the first goal for Team Qatar in the 22nd minute.
Ahmed Alaa scored the second goal for Al Annabi at 38'.
The score at full-time was Qatar 2-0 Kuwait. Amro Siraj won the man of the match award.
