The Qatari handball team won the 20th Asian Championship title for the fifth time in a row, after defeating Bahrain in the final match 29-24 at the Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam, Saudi Arabia on Monday, 31 January 2022.
Qatar also won the championship titles in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 editions, and now has matched South Korea’s record of five straight titles in the continental event.
Saudi Arabia placed third after a 26-23 win over Iran.
