Qatar volleyball team on Thursday secured its first win in U-23 Asian Volleyball Championship in its third edition, after beating Hong Kong 3-1 in the city of Naypyidaw (Myanmar) which is hosting the championship from August 3 to 11, with the participation of 16 teams.
With this victory, the Qatari team managed to secure its first win in the championship after losing four consecutive matches, against Pakistan 0-3, against China Taipei 0-3, and against Bahrain 0-3, to finish in the fourth position with no points.
At the start of the championship, the Qatari team lost to the hosting country Myanmar 1-3.
The Qatari team is scheduled to play today against New Zealand for position 13 to 16.
